amy brentano

is the Producing Artistic Director of The Foundry, a performing arts venue in West Stockbridge, MA.  She moved to the Berkshires from New York City in 2002. A theater artist and educator, her dream has long been to acquire a physical space where challenging, new work is supported, unheard stories are given a platform, and artists generous of spirit convene and produce work that questions old ideas and leaps across cultural boundaries.

Brentano served as Artistic Director for Red Earth Ensemble, a non-profit theater producing original work in NYC for ten years, was a member of Teatron, a theatre company producing work at La Mama ETC, and is a co-artistic director of Bazaar Productions Inc. in the Berkshires. She remains committed to bringing diverse audiences and artists together to create dialogue and challenge perspectives.
